Musta = Black

While visiting Andy Warhol exhibition in local art museum I came along to this establishment which is selling local delicacy to all who are willing to have it.

Currently closed, but will open for summer.

Place is Tampere, Finland and therefore local delicacy is naturally Mustamakkara, hence the sign "MUSTAA"

Perfect for Black and White Weekend!

Post office 195

Here it is, the most extreme Post office ever, isn't it?
This one I found from Nokia, Finland. Somewhere here in case you want to visit.

Just before you go and try to send a post card with rare stamp I have to say it isn't a real post office after all.
More like a hangout place to summer, and permanent (if any), residents. This is very much a holiday hut area.

Wel, pretty good monochrome anyway and more of these you'll find here

Reflections

Finally it is getting warmer here in Finland.
Water from melting snow is forming big and small streams and bonds all over forests and some times even heavy flooding is happening, mostly at west coast, but water is anyway everywhere right now.

Good thing if shooting B&W shots like this ;-)

B&W Architecture

This Special B&W piece of architecture can be found form Turku, Finland.
There is also some remains of last winter's snow on ground ;-)

Kind of geometrical, but not...confusing, right?

Hells Ange....No, Sons of Abraham

This ridicu...religious sign I found while walking around the centre of Tampere, Finland.
First impression was, are these some kind of MC club impersonators, like bad boys of god?
Actually this is sign of religious MC club, Sons of Abraham. They even have their own web pages and all.

I've been biking half of my life and never seen these boys anywhere. Never been in religious parties or happenings, tough. And probably never will.

Great B&W shot I got anyway, don't you think.

Even better B&W shots you'll find from here

Mummies and lanterns

Todays B&W seem to be more black than white, but it is OK.

Found this one while visiting Mummies exhibition in Vapriikki, Tampere.
The item in photo is not a mummy nor anything else related to them. It is a lantern on a wall which tells the exhibition itself wasn't very interesting if I had time to explore to walls, don't you think?
Vapriikki, however, is worth a visit. Mummies, this time not.

Crosspower

This I shot a week ago while looking around.
Looks like there is bigger and rather small power lines crossing. Which is funny, since this a spot for many cross country skiers to start their ski trips.
So, it will be lots of crossing and all here.

Even better is the snow in trees and perfect lighting conditions at the moment of shot.

Snow

Snow, it is everywhere.
This one is from Tampere, Finland. You can see, or could see if not frozen, Lake Tohloppi behind those trees.

Nokia sunset

This is just after sunset at Nokia, Finland, today at 3:47pm
Not too much sunlight this time of the year here.
Today
Sunrise: 9:44 am
Sunset:  3:05 pm

Well, well, well, more than 5 hours constant sunshine after all, lookin good.
And what a marvelous photo?

A dark forrest once again

Today I was shooting forrest on a gravel ridge growing lots of pine, spruce, birch and all kinds of trees. Not as famous ridge as Pyynikki, but probably the second most famous anyway. Same formation after all.
Well, suddenly I got idea to start shooting upwards and that gave me lots of interesting perspectives to surrounding areas.

This is one of my shots from today.

Midday in Tampere, Finland

This one I shoot while my today morning visit to lake Tesoma in Tampere, Finland.
It was just a little after high noon and sun is already going down. Not much llight these days here.
What a great B&W shot with just a little twist of sunlight against flash ;-)

A one building of Stable Yards

This old Russian style building is located at Tallipiha (Stable Yards in english), Tampere, Finland.
"Nowdays Tallipiha is Tampere's most charming shopping experience and full of life again"
-They say, I do not necessarily agree, but worth a visit if you want to know how charming shopping experience it is.

Shot it while my visit there today morning.
Perfect for B&W Weekend, don't you think?

Shotfactory

This old tower was used to make shots to guns. Factory was used from 1859 to 1972.
Nowdays it is just standing there and probably the second most famous sight of Tampere, FInland. (After Näsinneula naturally).

This one I found from Tullintori shopping centre, Tampere, Finland.

Launrypark

This weekends monochrome shot is from Pyykkipuisto, Tampere, Finland.
Pyykkipuisto translates as Laundrypark, do they do their laundries here, I don't know. Propably they did hundred years ago.

Any way, this is part of famous Pyynikki in Tampere and from there you can see possibly the most remarkable views in Tampere if not whole Finland. Do some googling if you want more photos from this site.

Buena Vista!
